I suffer from Lumbar Disk Diseases with chronic pain, and I was hesitant to start another Physical Therapy since I did not experience much improvement at the last place. "I was a patient of Alcina Lima PT for the past two months or so. Alcina is an excellent physical therapist. She is very knowledgeable in anatomy and understanding pain and where it comes from. She is excellent in explaining stretches, doing the stretch a different way if you find it difficult and finding ways to make the stretch have different levels of difficulty. I really felt she understood my pain and gave me tools to help my back pain. I was a dentist for 37 years and leaned over patients all that time in a non ergonomic way. After I retired I started to have a severe lower back pain when I twisted the wrong way. Alcina helped me learn how to walk, get up out of bed and out of a chair and perform the stretches so I wasn't twisting and causing the pain.
